If you're interested in helping us grow our family through adoption, there are several ways to get involved. First of all, pray for us. We're just getting started and our emotions have already been all over the place. Pray specifically for peace, direction, faith, and support. Pray that we receive all the funding we need. Pray that this process goes as smoothly as possible and we can bring home our new child in approximately 2 years. Pray that God gives us a child who will fit seamlessly into our family and that we can be everything that this child needs. Pray for the health and safety of this child and his or her parents. Pray for their hearts because it can never be an easy decision to say goodbye to a child.
Secondly, please help us financially if you are able. Every dollar you can spare will be so appreciated. International adoption is extremely expensive. The cost almost scared us away. In fact, it scares away most people who consider adopting. 30% of American families have considered adoption, yet only 2% go through with it citing the cost as their main deterrent. We knew that if we kept putting this dream off until we had "more money", we'd just wait and wait until it was too late and regret it forever. So we're jumping in head first, both scared and optimistic.
